Jamia Millia Islamia University came into existence in the year 1920 and it one among the different central universities functioning in India. The university is operating from the city of Delhi and it earned the status of central university in the year 1988. The university was given this name from the language of Arabic and Urdu and the meaning of the term Jamia is university and Mallia is National in these languages.
